It’s All in the Name

The SunRype TRi KiDS Triathlon Series started in 2009 with four races in Oakville, Mississauga, Milton and Bracebridge.  It was clear after season one that there was a huge appetite for triathlon races organized just for kids, not as an add-on to an adult race.  We continued to expand into communities in Ontario and in 2011 the TRi KiDS series expanded into BC with a race in Kelowna, the home of our Title Sponsor, SunRype.  In 2014 we added Calgary, Alberta to the schedule and 2015, Edmonton was added. We have plans for continued growth into new communities and provinces making TRi KiDS Canada’s only triathlon series JUST FOR KiDS!

With our passion for managing events we added our love of the tropics and white sand beaches creating the Island Girl Half Marathon & 5K, an annual running race for women on Toronto Island. Island Girl is an intimate, tropical-themed race on a flat and scenic course. The live steel drum bands, tropical juice, coconut water and vibrant energy makes this race an annual favourite on running calendars, selling out each year.

Run Well Events Inc. is the company we founded as a home for the SunRype TRi KiDS Triathlon Series, Island Girl Half Marathon & 5K and the other great events we are contracted to manage like the Cadillac Fairview 5K Run/Walk in Toronto, Nicola’s Tri for Kids and Sara’s Ride.  Even though our weekends are filled with organizing and managing races you will also see us as volunteers or participants at other events.  Over the years we have worked with many first class organizations offering running and multisport events; the Mississauga Marathon,  Canada Running Series and MultiSport Canada to name a few.

We love organizing races! With over 200 races under our belt we have become very accustomed to the 3:00 am set up time and the countless hours that go into a well run event. We couldn’t do what we do without our dedicated crew, staff and volunteers. They are just as passionate as we are about our commitment to a ‘Run Well’ event.

Thank you for visiting,

Tara and Brad Melville
